Long queues at the security checkpoint, small and cramped seats, inedible food and a desire that the flight should just be over. Do you recognize yourself?
Like any other ordinary person with a regular salary, I had more or less accepted my fate as a financial traveler. Until I got my first taste of business class on a trip from Zurich to Dubai. During the six-hour flight, misery was exchanged for joy; with fluffy pillows, proper bed, huge legroom, five-course meal and good service, I was quickly stuck.
Then – six years ago – I understood why it is worth traveling in business class. And since then, I have tried to “hack” the travel world and make it as cheap as possible to travel in premium classes. Today I travel in business class and first class at a fraction of the cost and want to share my knowledge so you can do it too.
Here are five reasons why you should travel in Business Class:
You will be given priority at check-in, through the security check and when boarding
Priority in safety control (Fast Track) at Arlanda
Sometimes it can be completely crazy at some airports, especially if you fly in high season or early in the morning. If you fly in business class, you get your own check-in counter where you get checked in faster. Furthermore, at the security checkpoint, there is a separate priority queue at many airports, which means that the lengthy security procedure is over faster. And when it’s time to get on board, you’ll be among the first to do so.
You can hang out in a lounge before the flight

Hanging out at airport restaurants is usually a costly story that is rarely worth it. If you fly in business class, you can hang out in a relaxed lounge before your flight. In the lounges you will usually find food, drinks, wifi and a comfortable seat to wait for your flight in. Of course, everything is free and included in the ticket. Go nuts.
You get good food and drink

Bye, boring plane food that makes you anxious. Away with the plastic cutlery. In Business Class, you can often enjoy a 5-course gourmet meal with starters, salad, a selection of different main courses, cheese and dessert. In addition, you can enjoy exclusive champagnes, spirits and wines while you are 30,000 feet up in the air. And as if that were not enough, there are also real cutlery, real plates and a white tablecloth as the finishing touch.
You get better service
I’m not saying that the flight attendants in the economy cabin are not kind; many are, of course. But they are much kinder in business class. The whole trip is somehow nicer and more fun.
Your seat is about 1000 times more comfortable, you get proper sleep and arrive rested
SAS business class with Hästens products is available on all intercontinental flights.
The absolute biggest difference is probably the seat in business class compared to economy class. You get a proper seat with a lot of legroom. The chair can also be adjusted and can end up in lounge mode, or a bed – you decide. No matter what, you travel much more comfortably and do not have to argue with anyone else about the space.
I went from being a person who could not take a nap on the plane to getting several hours of sleep on the plane. It turns out that a fluffy pillow, duvet, eye mask and warm socks together with a 180 degree bed on one level helps :).
Do you also want to travel in business class at a fraction of the regular cost?
With a few tips and tricks, you can also embark on a business class trip at a fraction of the cost. With just a few steps, you, like Josefine, can, in just a couple of months, book a return trip in business class to the USA or Asia for less than SEK 500 (regular price SEK 25,000).
A promise from me: if you follow the tips, you will get away on at least one business class trip a year for less than SEK 500.
